Join us for a silent movie special evening!  Gary McGath returns to provide live keyboard accompaniment for his 16th silent film at the Plaistow Library.  Today's movie will be a special sampling of three popular short films. 

The first is the 1920 Harold Lloyd film, "His Royal Slyness".  An American book salesman (Lloyd) is persuaded to go to the kingdom of Thermosa to impersonate the Prince. He is greeted by a peasants' revolt before the real prince shows up to claim his throne and princess. The revolution succeeds, and the American is elected president of the new republic.  This film has a runtime of 24 minutes. 

The second film is the 1925 Stan Laurel film "Dr. Pyckle and Mr. Pryde". An esteemed doctor uses his own body as a guinea pig when he takes a new drug that changes him into a prankster. This film has a runtime of 21 minutes. 

The third film is the 1917 Charlie Chaplin movie "The Immigrant".  Charlie is an immigrant to America who endures a challenging voyage and gets into trouble as soon as he arrives.This film has a runtime of  20 minutes.
