Plaistow Library Kids for Peace welcomes kids in grades 4 and up, including middle and high school students. This program offers a unique opportunity to strengthen cursive writing skills while participating in the Peaceful Pen Pals Program and bringing the Kids for Peace Pledge to life in meaningful, culturally relevant ways.

Participants can apply for a pen pal in another state or country, exchanging handwritten letters to build friendships across distances. Kids for Peace meets on the third Tuesday of each month, year-round.

Because the pen pal element requires commitment, members will also use their cursive skills to brighten someone's day through heartfelt cards and letters—sent to those who could use a cheerful note, such as nursing home residents, veterans, and participants in the Military Card Challenge.
